The strip or block installation method refers to the installation method in which the grid is divided into strips or block-shaped units, which are hoisted by lifting equipment to high-altitude design positions and then placed in place, and then integrated into a whole. Strip shape refers to being divided into several segments along the long span direction of the grid. The width of each segment can be from one grid to three grids, and its length is the span of the short span of the grid. Block shape refers to being divided along the vertical and horizontal directions of the grid. The final unit shape is rectangular or square. The weight of each unit is based on the lifting capacity of the existing lifting equipment on site.

In the strip or block installation method, most of the welding and splicing work is performed on the ground, which is conducive to improving the quality of the project and saving most of the assembly brackets. The high-altitude bulk assembly method refers to the method of assembling small units or components (single rods and single nodes) directly at the designed location. There are two types of high-altitude bulk assembly methods: the full-frame (i.e., full-scale scaffolding) method and the cantilever method. The full-frame method is mostly used for the assembly of parts, while the overhang method is mostly used for the assembly of small units at high altitudes. Because the parts are assembled at high altitude, there is no need to use large-scale lifting equipment. However, due to the erection of large-scale assembly brackets, a large amount of scaffolding materials are required.
